Installation / Borders in Flux at Errant Sound as part of Borders & Territories
“Borders in Flux” will be on view from this weekend till 8th February at @errant.sound as part of the “Borders and Territories” exhibition.
Borders in Flux
Interactive Sound Installation
ultrasonic speakers, Arduino, MAX, infrared sensors, metal
Borders are no longer just physical lines on a map; they are increasingly elusive infrastructures, enacted through surveillance, biometric tracking, and sonic deterrence. Borders in Flux is an interactive sound installation that reflects on these evolving border mechanisms, questioning how access, movement, and perception are regulated through sound.
Using directional ultrasound speakers and distance sensors, the installation creates an unstable sonic landscape in which sound itself acts as a border—emerging only from certain positions and receding as visitors move through the space.
