Installation / Birds on the Wire #1

Birds on the Wire - prototype #1
Bird spikes, contact mics, MAX, speakers

Dreaming of a world where interspecies conflict gives way to cohabitation, the project reimagines the bird spike as a tool for connection and communication. In this first prototype, contact microphones capture the vibrations of bird spikes as pigeons interact with them—feeding, perching, or moving across the surface. The spikes, traditionally defensive architectural tools, become a platform where human and non-human agents experiment and explore the possibilities of shared presence.

The real destruction lies not in what pigeons do in urban life but in our refusal to imagine alternative ways of living together.
