Watertongue is a site-specific performance that explores the profound relationship between the voice and the environment, resonating with the ‘ecological memory’ of a mutable landscape. Through mimetic singing, water sounds, ritual gestures and narration, the voice harmonises with the surrounding environment, moving between the presence and absence of water, evoking the sounds of animals such as birds, frogs, insects and other migratory wild voices.

“Acoustic Horizon” is an interactive sound installation that deals with the acoustic relationship between the human and its environment. Using a soundscape approach, the installation reflects on both the history, present and possible future environmental quality of the site by actively blurring the boundaries of proximity and distance.

Sound miniatures move through the floating area. Quietly, almost fleetingly, like insects or swallows, they move through hidden or inconspicuously placed loudspeakers. They are gestural miniature sounds that are reminiscent of small animals, but could be futuristic miniature robots, the listener will not be able to give a clear answer...
